About this product
AqueousAir™ is a water aeration system designed to oxygenate and circulate water below the surface of your rainwater tank, helping maintain water quality and get the most from your stored water supply.
Water naturally contains dissolved oxygen when it enters your tank, whether from rainfall, water delivery or water pumped from dams, rivers or bores. Over time, as stored water sits idle, dissolved oxygen levels can decrease. Combined with sediment and organic matter accumulating at the bottom of the tank, this can create anaerobic conditions.
Anaerobic conditions occur when oxygen levels become low, allowing bacteria and organic matter to build up within the tank. This can contribute to stagnant water, unpleasant odours and poor taste, particularly during extended periods of low rainfall or hot weather.
Dissolved Oxygen (DO) refers to the amount of oxygen present in water and plays an important role in maintaining water quality. Without adequate dissolved oxygen and circulation, stored water can become stagnant and conditions within the tank may deteriorate.
Most rainwater tank systems draw water from near the bottom of the tank, where sediment and low-oxygen conditions are more likely to develop. AqueousAir™ helps address this by continuously aerating and circulating the stored water, increasing oxygenation and helping reduce stagnant conditions throughout the tank.
